Things to Do

Golfing

The Beaverhead Golf Course is 9-holes, and 100 acres of grass fairways, bent grass, and large greens with a small creek running through two fairways.  Beautiful poplar, pine, and willow trees line the fairways and greens. The Beaverhead’s practice facility includes a driving range, and spacious putting green. One of the friendliest courses in Southwest Montana, the Beaverhead Golf Course provides a full-service bar, spacious dining room and a large deck for meeting friends and watching the sunset over the Pioneer Mountains!

Ghost Towns

In Beaverhead County, we have two types of ghost towns:

Well-Preserved Ghost TownBannack State Park - Bannack was First Territorial Capital of Montana and the first Montana gold strike!

Ghost Town RuinsCoolidge in the Beaverhead Deerlodge National Forest - Coolidge was a small town in 1919 created as a silver mining town.  It was named after Calvin Coolidge, who was friends with the founder William R. Allen of the Boston-Montana Development Corporation. By 1923, the silver prices had plummeted and the whole operation was in receivership.
